Kristian Berg
Kristian Berg's first production
experience was on FORECLOSURE (1982) a short film produced with a
small rural Minnesota community as a response to the farm crisis.
Since that time he has gone on to write and produce non-fiction
television series and documentaries. Kristian's PBS series work
includes HISTORY DETECTIVES, ZOOM, DRAGONFLYTV, and NEWTON'S APPLE.
In 1992, Kristian wrote and produced the PBS documentary THE DAKOTA
CONFLICT for Twin Cities Public Television on the U.S.-Dakota War of
1862. Three years later he produced the sequel DAKOTA EXILE to
follow the paths of the scattered Dakota Nation. Kristian wrote and
produced two documentaries on famous trials for Court TV: THE
SCOTTSBORO BOYS (1998) and THE CAPTURE AND TRIAL OF ADOLF EICHMANN
(1999). He also served as writer for AMERICAN PASSAGES, a 16 part
series on American Literature for Oregon Public Broadcasting.
He was a recipient of scholarships from PBS and the Corporation for
Public Broadcasting to attend the Sundance Film Festival (2001) and
a 7-day workshop at WGBH-Boston (2003) as part of the PBS Producers’
Academy. A select group of independent producers are chosen for this
program every year based on their potential to contribute to the PBS
system.
Kristian's awards include a national Daytime Emmy nomination, an
Ohio State Award, an American Association for the Advancement of
Science (AAAS) Science Journalism Award, a New York Festivals bronze
medal, a U.S. International Film & Video Festival Gold Camera Award,
three regional Emmy Awards and an American Film and Video Festival
blue ribbon.
Laurent Rejto
Laurent Rejto, has over twenty years
experience in film as an office manager, film editor, author,
director and producer. His work experience also includes web design,
bookkeeping and small business ownership.
In 2000, Laurent co-founded the
WOODSTOCK FILM FESTIVAL,
a non-profit
organization with a mission to present an annual program and
year-round schedule of film, music, and art-related activities that
promote artists, culture, inspired learning, diversity, and
sustainable economic development by attracting and supporting film,
video and media production and exhibition. In addition to his duties
as director of development, Laurent is also the director and the
driving force behind the Woodstock Film Commission, which promotes
local film production and filmmakers. Other duties include program
development, production, grant writing, fund raising, bookkeeping,
public relations, web design, graphic design and the writing of
press releases, ads, monthly newsletters and festival programs.
As an author, Mr. Rejto has written for
feature films (ABSOLUTION, COVER-UP), and other media including
series television series (LEGEND HAS IT, PHYSICAL THERAPY). In 2002,
he translated, expanded and published the French World War II novel,
THE RELUCTANT ADVENTURER (Aventurier Malgré Soi).
As a producer and director, Laurent¹s
projects include
REACHING OUT WITH THEATER, and
FOR LOVE OF JULIAN.
Laurent graduated from
the film department at the School of Visual Arts, which he attended
on a full scholarship. His work experience includes six years as an
assistant editor then film editor on documentaries including the
Emmy winning BEYOND THE ALTAR and the Academy Award nominated
WITNESS TO APARTHEID. |
